Replacement Seals for Shower Doors

Shower seals are not interchangeable. A blade seal sits along the bottom of a glass panel and wipes water back into the tray. A bubble seal closes the gap where two panels meet at a hinge or pivot. A magnetic seal pulls a door shut against its frame on a hinged enclosure. A tee seal slots into a channel along the edge of the glass and is held by the channel itself rather than by adhesive. Each does a specific job.
Inline, brush, plug, profile and corner seals each do something different again. Buy the wrong profile and you'll either get water past it or it won't fit at all. Shower Door Seals Matched by Length and Glass Thickness
Length and glass thickness are the two measurements that decide whether a seal fits. Glass thickness covers 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm, with 4-6mm, 6-8mm and 8-10mm tolerance-fit options for seals designed to accommodate small variations. Frequently Asked Questions About Shower Door Seals
How do I know what size shower door seal I need?
Measure the existing seal end to end with a steel rule. Note the glass thickness with a caliper or a stepped gauge, and check the orientation, whether the seal runs horizontally along the bottom or vertically up a hinge or jamb. Length, thickness and orientation together are enough to filter this page down to the seals built for your enclosure. If the old seal has stretched or shrunk, measure the channel it sits in rather than the seal.
Are shower door seals universal?
No. The profile depends on the glass thickness and the type of enclosure: a 6mm walk-in shower needs a different seal to an 8mm hinged door or a bath screen on 4mm glass. Some seals are designed to fit a small spread of glass thicknesses (the 4-6mm and 6-8mm options on this page), but the seal profile itself, blade or bubble or magnetic or tee, has to match what came out. A seal that's too tight won't compress properly. A seal that's too loose will leak.
What's the difference between a shower screen seal and a bath screen seal?
A bath screen seal fits the shorter glass panel that sits on the edge of a bath, often 800mm to 1500mm long and 4mm or 6mm glass. A shower screen seal fits a full-height enclosure, around 1900mm to 2000mm long on 6mm, 8mm or 10mm glass.
