Shower Head Holders
Replacement shower head holders and wall brackets for branded showers, including Bristan, Ideal Standard, Mira, Hansgrohe and Bathstore. We stock fixed chrome wall brackets, adjustable and swivel brackets, and slider brackets for riser rails. Most of these branded parts are no longer available through general retailers, but are stocked here as direct replacements for the original fitting.
Replacement Parts for Shower Head Holders and Wall Brackets
Fixed wall brackets, adjustable brackets and slider brackets for riser rails.
When a shower holder bracket cracks, loses its grip, or pulls away from the wall fixing, the handset either falls or hangs at a fixed angle that no longer works. In most cases the bracket itself is the only part that needs replacing, not the shower. We stock fixed chrome wall brackets and adjustable wall brackets for handsets that mount directly to the wall, as well as slider brackets for riser rail systems where the holder travels up and down a vertical rail.
Brand-matched replacement parts are stocked for Bristan, Ideal Standard, Mira, Hansgrohe, Keuco, Pura, Roca and Vado. EuroShowers chrome and white wall brackets cover common non-branded showers, and BSP's adjustable chrome handset sliders fit riser rails from 19mm to 25mm in diameter. For Aqualisa showers, our Aqualisa spare parts section covers shower mixer, digital and power shower components by product type.
Many of these branded replacement shower head holders are no longer carried by hardware retailers. A Bristan Java wall bracket or an Ideal Standard Nikles fixed chrome holder is unlikely to appear on a general retailer's shelf, but it is a direct replacement for the part that came with the original shower.
Which Part Has Failed - Wall Bracket or Slider Bracket?
Identify your holder type before searching. These two components look similar but are replaced differently.
Fixed to the wall
Wall Bracket / Fixed Holder
Screwed directly to the wall tiles at a fixed height
The handset sits in a cup or cradle (it does not travel up or down)
May have a ball joint for angle adjustment, or be completely fixed
Common failure: the bracket cracks at the wall fixing, or the ball joint seizes
We stock: fixed chrome wall brackets, adjustable wall brackets, swivel brackets - Bristan, Ideal Standard, Mira, Hansgrohe and EuroShowers.
Clips onto a riser rail
Slider Bracket / Rail Holder
Clips onto a vertical riser rail and slides up and down to adjust height
A cam mechanism or locking button holds it at the chosen height
Also called a shower clamp, handset slider or rail holder
Common failure: the cam no longer locks, or the bracket cracks and slides freely
We stock: BSP adjustable chrome slider (fits 19–25mm rails), Bristan sliding handset holder, matched to your rail diameter.
| Term | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Shower head holder | The general term for any fitting that holds a shower handset in position, whether wall-mounted or rail-mounted. Used interchangeably with shower holder bracket and shower bracket in most product listings. |
| Wall bracket / fixed holder | A bracket screwed directly to the wall at a fixed height, holding the handset in a cup or cradle. May be straight or angled, fixed or adjustable. Not attached to a riser rail. |
| Slider bracket / rail holder | A clamp that fits onto a vertical riser rail and slides up and down to set height. The replacement part is matched to your rail diameter, typically between 19mm and 25mm. Also called a handset slider or shower clamp. |
| Handset holder / handset bracket | The same as a shower head holder. The term "handset" is used by brands such as Bristan, Mira and Ideal Standard in their own part names. The product is the same component. |
| Support bracket / pipe bracket | Used in some searches to describe a wall bracket that supports the shower hose or riser pipe as well as the handset. Usually refers to a fixed wall-mounted holder rather than a slider. |
| Shower clamp | An informal term for the slider bracket, specifically the cam-locking mechanism that grips the riser rail. If your shower clamp no longer holds position on the rail, the slider bracket is the replacement part. |
Questions About Shower Head Holder Replacements
Common questions when identifying and ordering a replacement shower holder bracket.
Are shower head holders universal, or do I need a specific replacement?
Not always. Fixed wall brackets are often interchangeable between brands if the cup size and fixing centres match, but branded holders from Bristan, Ideal Standard and Mira are designed to fit their specific handsets and may differ in cup diameter, mounting angle or fixing pattern. Slider brackets are matched to the rail diameter. BSP's adjustable slider fits rails from 19mm to 25mm, which covers most riser rails.
What sizes do slider brackets come in, and how do I measure mine?
Slider brackets are sized by the outer diameter of the riser rail they clip onto. Measure across the widest point of the rail in millimetres. The BSP adjustable chrome handset slider fits rails from 19mm to 25mm in diameter. If your original slider is a branded part from Bristan, the part number is printed on the bracket itself or listed in the original shower installation guide.
My shower head holder is broken. Do I need to replace the bracket or the whole shower?
In almost every case, just the bracket. The holder is a separate component from the shower valve and the handset. A cracked wall bracket, a slider that no longer locks on the rail, or a ball joint that has seized. These are all are bracket-level replacements. The shower itself is unaffected. Replacing the holder is a straightforward job and far cheaper than replacing the full shower fitting.
What is the difference between a slider bracket and a fixed wall bracket?
A fixed wall bracket is screwed to the wall at one height and does not move. The handset sits in a cup or cradle on the bracket. A slider bracket clips onto a vertical riser rail and travels up and down to adjust height, held in place by a cam or locking button. If your shower has a riser rail running from near the floor to above head height, you have a slider bracket. If the holder is directly on the wall with no rail, you have a fixed bracket.
Can I get a replacement holder for a Bathstore, Mira or discontinued shower?
Yes. We stock Bathstore Blade and chrome wall bracket replacements. Find them in our Bathstore shower spares section alongside other discontinued Bathstore shower fittings. For Mira-specific holders, including the Logic and RF2 fixed handset holders, our Mira shower heads and hoses spares section lists compatible replacements by model.
