There is no standard cartridge
When a quarter-turn tap drips, the fix is a new ceramic cartridge. The trouble is every manufacturer uses its own, differing in size, spline count, spindle length and depth, with thousands in circulation.
You cannot carry them all, and sourcing the exact one means leaving the job. So the tap gets replaced, which costs the customer more and takes longer than it needs to.
