Urinal Wastes & Spares
Urinal Wastes are designed for trade and commercial washroom installations where the unit drains continuously rather than holding water. The fittings (strainer dome at the top, spreader bar, trap underneath) are mostly stainless steel or chrome and rely on dimensional standards specific to commercial sanitaryware. We supply replacement strainer domes, spreaders, trap parts and flush-valve waste components for current and older urinal ranges.
URINAL WASTES & SPARES | BUYING GUIDE
Types of Urinal Waste Spare
Commercial urinal installations use four main replaceable components, each sold separately from the main unit.
-
Strainer domes
Chromed or stainless dome that sits inside the urinal bowl outlet, catching debris before it reaches the trap. Lifts out for cleaning and replaces independently of the rest of the waste assembly.
-
Spreader bars and spreader caps
Sit behind the inlet, distributing the flush water across the urinal bowl. Replacement is brand-specific, with the spreader pattern matching the urinal model.
-
Urinal traps
The U-bend or bottle trap connecting the urinal outlet to the drainage pipework. Commercial-spec sizes and corrosion-resistant materials. Replacement matches the existing connection sizes (usually 38 mm or 50 mm in commercial installs).
-
Flush-valve waste components
Waste parts that integrate with the auto-flush valve assembly above the urinal. Includes diaphragms, seals, valve cartridges and the small fittings that link the flush water supply to the urinal bowl.
Identifying Trade Fittings
Commercial urinal fittings are usually brand-stamped on the back or underside of the part, often hidden behind the wall or under the bowl. Disconnect water and remove the part to inspect for markings before ordering.
If the urinal range is more than fifteen years old or the brand is no longer trading under the original name, contact our team with photos and the approximate age of the installation. Bath, basin and other domestic waste components sit separately in the wider bathroom wastes hub, with replacement traps for both commercial and domestic use stocked across our bathroom waste traps range. Brand-matched commercial fittings are catalogued in our manufacturer directory, and shower-tray drainage components are covered separately in our shower wastes range.
Urinal Waste FAQs
Are urinal wastes interchangeable with domestic wastes?
No. Urinal wastes use commercial sanitaryware standards with different dimensions, materials and connection types from domestic basin or bath wastes. The strainer dome diameter, the spreader bar pattern and the trap connection sizes are specific to commercial fittings, with replacement parts sourced from sanitaryware suppliers rather than standard domestic outlets.
How do I identify the right replacement strainer dome?
Photograph the existing dome from above and below, measure the dome diameter and the locating thread or clip pattern, and note the brand of the urinal if visible (often stamped on the back of the spreader or printed on the original installation paperwork). Most commercial urinal manufacturers use brand-specific dome patterns; matching the brand is usually the fastest route to a working replacement.
Do you supply urinal spares for older trade fittings?
Yes. Older urinal fittings (pre-2000s, traditional commercial sanitaryware) often use parts that are no longer in current production. We hold stock for many of these legacy patterns and can identify generic equivalents where the original is unavailable. Brand-matched parts are catalogued in our manufacturer directory.
