Kitchen Taps Spares

When a kitchen tap starts dripping, stiffens on the handle, or loses pressure at the spout, the fault is nearly always a worn internal component rather than the tap itself. Replacement parts covering kitchen tap cartridges and valves, spouts, handles, pull-out hoses, spray heads and kitchen tap spares for mixer and monobloc models are stocked here, including parts for Grohe, Bristan and Franke.

Kitchen Tap Spares for Mixer, Monobloc and Pull-Out Models

Internal components, external fittings and complete assemblies for kitchen tap repair and replacement.

A dripping kitchen tap is usually a cartridge or ceramic disc that has worn past the point of sealing. A handle that turns without controlling flow points to a failed valve insert or a stripped cartridge stem. A pull-out spray that weeps at the connection or refuses to retract needs a new hose, weight clip or spray head rather than a new tap. Kitchen mixer tap parts and components for monobloc models follow the same pattern: the external body stays; the internal part is replaced. Spares for kitchen taps from Grohe, Bristan and Franke are stocked across all sub-categories here, covering everything from ceramic cartridges and thermostatic valves to replacement spouts, lever handles and pull-out hose assemblies. Commercial kitchen tap spares for professional-specification models are also available.

Kitchen Tap Components: What Each Part Is Called

The terms customers use and what they correspond to in the sub-categories above.

Term What It Is
Kitchen Tap Cartridge The internal valve unit that controls water flow and temperature in a single-lever mixer tap. When a tap drips or becomes stiff, the cartridge is the first component to replace. Ceramic disc cartridges are the most common type in kitchen taps.
Kitchen Tap Insert The replaceable seating unit inside a traditional pillar tap or quarter-turn valve. Sometimes called a valve insert or jumper valve. Controls flow by pressing against a seat rather than rotating a ceramic disc. Found in older pillar-style kitchen taps.
Kitchen Tap Washer A rubber or fibre disc that sits at the base of a tap insert and creates the water seal. One of the most common causes of a dripping tap. Replaced as part of a re-washer service on older pillar kitchen taps. Not used in ceramic disc models.
Pull-Out Hose The flexible reinforced hose connecting the pull-out spray head to the tap body on a pull-out kitchen mixer. Weeps at connection points or splits along the body over time. Replaced as a complete assembly in most cases, with the weight clip included.
Spray Head Aerator The outlet insert fitted to the end of a spray head or fixed spout that breaks the water into a consistent flow. Blocks with limescale in hard water areas. Can be removed and cleaned or replaced as a spare without changing the full spray head.
Kitchen Tap Components A general term covering the full set of internal and external parts for a kitchen tap: cartridges, O-rings, washers, handles, spouts and fixing hardware. When ordering, the tap brand and model number narrows down which specific components are compatible.
Bristan Artisan Filter A replacement filter cartridge for the Bristan Artisan filtered kitchen tap. The Artisan is a three-in-one tap providing filtered cold water, standard hot and standard cold from a single unit. Filter cartridges require periodic replacement as part of routine maintenance.

Kitchen Tap Spare Parts: Common Questions

Identification, compatibility and ordering guidance for kitchen tap spares.

Q1What are the internal parts of a kitchen tap called?

The main internal components are the cartridge (controls flow and temperature in a mixer tap), the insert or jumper valve (in older pillar taps), and the washer (the rubber seal at the base of the insert). External parts include the handle, spout, aerator and fixing hardware. On pull-out models there is also a hose, a spray head and a retraction weight. The reference panel above covers each term with a full description.

Q2How do I find the right kitchen tap spare without the model number?

Start with the brand name, which is usually stamped on the tap body or handle. Then identify the part type: is it a cartridge, a spray head, a handle or a hose? For cartridges, the critical measurement is the body diameter and stem height, which you can take once the cartridge is removed. If you have the tap but not the model, send us a photo of the tap and the removed part to sales@bathroomspareparts.co.uk and we will identify the correct replacement.

Q3Are Grohe kitchen tap spare parts compatible across different Grohe models?

Not always. Grohe organises its kitchen tap range by series, and cartridges, aerators and handles are often specific to a series or generation rather than interchangeable across the full range. The Minta, Zedra, Eurosmart and Concetto series each use different cartridge sizes. Checking by series is the most reliable approach. Parts for current and discontinued Grohe kitchen tap models are organised by series in our Grohe kitchen tap spare parts section.

Q4Can I still get spare parts for a Bristan kitchen tap that has been discontinued?

For many discontinued Bristan models, yes. Bristan has a long history in the UK kitchen tap market and spare parts for older ranges including 1901, Artisan, Colonial, Regency and Echo models remain available. The cartridge and handle specifications for most Bristan kitchen taps are consistent enough that parts from current production often fit earlier versions of the same range. The full list of discontinued and current Bristan models is in our Bristan kitchen tap spares section.

Q5Do you stock spare parts for Franke kitchen taps?

Yes. Franke kitchen tap spares including cartridges, aerators and filter components for Franke filtered tap models are stocked. Franke taps are sold under specific model names and the part compatibility is model-specific rather than range-wide, so the model reference on the tap body or original packaging is worth noting before ordering. Parts for Franke kitchen taps including filtered and standard models are listed in our Franke spare parts section.

Not sure which kitchen tap spare fits your model?

Send us a photo of your tap and the part you need to replace. We will identify the correct spare before you order.
