The wheel wears gradually, so when it finally goes the door either drags on the track or drops off it altogether. How to Match Your Replacement Shower Door Roller

Three steps to finding the right roller by dimension, for any enclosure type including curved and quadrant doors.

Measure the wheel diameter

Remove the roller from the door and measure across the face of the wheel itself, not the housing or bracket. Match the measurement to the sizes stocked: 16mm, 17.8mm, 18.7mm, 19mm, 19.3mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 22.8mm and 25mm. This approach works for any enclosure type, including curved and quadrant shower doors.

Check whether it is a top or bottom roller

Shower door top rollers and bottom rollers have different profiles and are not interchangeable. Check which track position your failed roller came from before ordering. Most sliding enclosures use one of each per door panel. Curved, quadrant, bi-fold and sliding doors all use the same measurement process.

Single wheel or double wheel

Single-wheel rollers carry the door on one wheel per housing. Double-wheel rollers split the load across two wheels and are more common on heavier glass panels. Look at the existing roller before ordering. The number of wheels is easy to confirm once it is removed from the track.

Cassellie rollers: matched by glass thickness rather than wheel diameter. The 4mm and 6mm glass variants are stocked as pairs. Select the size that matches your glass panel.

How do I measure my shower door roller to get the right size?

The measurement you need is the wheel diameter. Measure across the face of the wheel itself, not the housing or bracket it sits in. Standard UK shower doors use wheels between 16mm and 25mm. To confirm the measurement is correct, check it against the product name in the listing, which always includes the wheel diameter. If the door has both a top and bottom roller, measure both as they can differ from each other.

Are universal shower door rollers available if I don't know the brand?

Yes. The BSP own-brand dimensioned range is designed for exactly this situation. It covers 16mm, 17.8mm, 18.7mm, 19mm, 19.3mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 22.8mm and 25mm wheel diameters in both single-wheel and double-wheel versions. Measure the existing roller and match it to the closest size. The range was developed specifically for enclosures where the original manufacturer is no longer identifiable or the brand is no longer in production.

Do you stock rollers for curved and quadrant shower doors?

Yes. Curved and quadrant enclosures use the same wheel-diameter matching process as straight sliding doors. Aqata Exclusive Solutions ES rollers cover quad sliding door applications, and the BSP own-brand range in 16mm to 25mm fits most curved-track enclosures once matched by diameter. Quadrant shower door rollers are available for both top and bottom track positions. Measure the existing wheel and select the nearest size in the listing.

What is the difference between top and bottom shower door rollers?

A top roller sits in the upper track and carries most of the weight of the door panel. A bottom roller runs along the lower rail and guides the door's path. The two have different profiles and are not interchangeable. A bottom roller will not seat correctly in a top track and vice versa. Most enclosures use one of each per door panel. If the roller bracket is also damaged, replacement shower door fixings including brackets and glass clamps are stocked separately.

I have an old shower door and can't find the original rollers anywhere, so what are my options?

BSP stocks replacement parts for Bathstore enclosures (including the Atlas, Noir, Plan and Smartline ranges that closed in 2019). These old shower door rollers are not available from standard trade counter retailers. For any other discontinued brand, the BSP own-brand dimensioned range in 16mm to 25mm covers most older enclosures as long as you can measure the original wheel diameter.
