Plumbing Sundries & Parts
If you need plumbing parts for a bathroom repair, plumbing spares for a leaking fitting, or general plumbing sundries to finish a job, everything is stocked here. From brass fittings and shut off valves to repair kits and pipe clips, this section covers the consumables and plumber parts that keep bathroom plumbing working, including items that most trade counters no longer carry.
Plumbing parts for bathroom repairs
Consumables, fittings and sundries for tap, valve, cistern and towel rail work
Most bathroom plumbing jobs need more than the main part. A cartridge replacement needs silicone grease or plumbers grease to seat properly. A new fitting needs PTFE tape or jointing compound to seal the thread. A pipe run needs clips to fix it to the wall. These are the plumbing repair parts that rarely come in the box, and the ones most likely to be missing from a standard merchant's shelf. This section covers the full range of bathroom plumbing accessories and consumables: compression fittings in brass and plastic, shut off valves for isolation work, jubilee hose clips, pipe clips in 15mm and 22mm, O rings, washers and nuts for sealing and securing, plus sealants, repair kits and specialist plumbing tools. If you are carrying out plumbing replacement parts work on a tap, shower, cistern or towel rail, the sundries you need are stocked here alongside the main spares range.

Questions about plumbing parts & sundries
Identification, selection and compatibility questions answered
What are plumbing sundries?
Plumbing sundries are the consumable and ancillary items used to complete a plumbing job: sealants, PTFE tape, greases, clips, fixings, washers and small fittings that support the main repair rather than being the main repair itself. They are the parts that keep a fitting sealed, a pipe secured or a thread leak-free, and are distinct from primary components such as cartridges, valves or cistern internals.
What is the difference between plumbing parts and plumbing accessories?
Plumbing parts are functional components that form part of the system: valves, fittings, washers, clips and connectors that carry, control or seal water flow. Plumbing accessories tend to refer to finishing items such as cover plates, escutcheons or tap handles. In practice the terms are often used interchangeably, but if you are searching for something that physically connects pipework or stops a leak, you are looking for plumbing parts rather than plumbing accessories.
Do I need PTFE tape or jointing compound for bathroom plumbing?
Both seal threaded connections but suit different applications. PTFE tape wraps around male threads before assembly and works well on most standard BSP fittings. Jointing compound is better suited to larger-diameter threads, older fittings with worn threads, or connections where a more robust seal is needed. For most bathroom tap and valve work, PTFE tape is sufficient. Both are stocked in the Repair Kits & Cleaners sub-category.
Which grease should I use when replacing a tap cartridge or O ring?
Silicone grease is the correct choice for rubber O rings, ceramic disc cartridges and any component where petroleum-based products would degrade the rubber. Plumbers grease is a general-purpose lubricant suited to metal-to-metal threads and fitting assembly. For tap cartridge replacement, use silicone grease on the O rings before inserting the new cartridge. Both are stocked in the Repair Kits & Cleaners sub-category in pot and tube formats.
Are towel rail valve spares stocked here?
Yes. If you need bleed valves, lockshield valves or thermostatic radiator valve heads specifically for a heated towel rail, the Towel Rail Spares & Valves section covers those parts separately with a dedicated range of valve types and fixings.
