Aerator Size Identification Guide
Correct identification is essential for a leak-free fit. Use the chart below to convert your physical measurements into the standard Neoperl "M" sizes. If your aerator is hidden inside the spout, you likely require a Cache model and a specific removal key.
Reference chart for M18, M20, M22, M24 and M28 threads.

Technical Support FAQs
1. How do I identify my Neoperl aerator size?+
Measure the thread diameter. M24 (Male) is roughly 24mm wide. A quick tip: a 1p coin is approx. M20, a 5p is M18, and a £1 coin is M24.
2. What is the difference between Male and Female threads?+
A Male aerator has the threads on the outside and screws into the tap spout. A Female aerator has the threads on the inside and screws onto the tap spout.
3. My aerator is hidden inside the tap. What do I need?+
You have a "Cache" aerator. These require a specific removal key (often color-coded) to unscrew them from the spout. Standard metal housings will not fit these taps.
4. Why is my tap splashing or spraying sideways?+
This is typically caused by limescale build-up or debris trapped in the honeycomb. We Supply easy-clean SLC aerators that allow you to rub away scale with your finger.
5. Can I use a Neoperl aerator to save water?+
Yes. By selecting a low-flow regulator or a Pressure Compensating (PCA) aerator, you can reduce water consumption to as little as 3.8 litres per minute without losing stream quality.
6. What photos should I send for identification?+
Send a photo of the complete tap and a close-up of the nozzle. Ideally, place a coin or ruler next to the aerator so we can accurately judge the thread size.
7. Are these compatible with my brand of tap?+
Neoperl manufactures the internal aerators for almost all major brands including Grohe, Vado, and Hansgrohe. As long as the thread size is correct, they are the standard Compatible choice.
Unsure of the thread type?
Email a photo of your tap nozzle and our team will identify the Compatible Neoperl part for you.
