Basin - Bidet Wastes & Spares
When a basin waste stops holding water, a bidet waste trap develops a leak, or a pop-up mechanism fails to seat properly, these are the replacement fittings and spare parts that fix it. Bathroom Spare Parts stocks bidet waste fittings, basin waste spares and bidet replacement parts from Hansgrohe, Armitage Shanks, Crosswater, Ideal Standard and more, including parts for discontinued models.
Basin and Bidet Waste Fittings: What We Stock
Replacement parts for basin wastes, bidet waste fittings, pop-up mechanisms and overflow covers
Basin waste fittings and bidet spare parts cover more ground than most people expect when a fault first appears. A slow drain on a basin usually points to the waste fitting itself, whether that is a slotted clicker waste that has seized, an unslotted pop-up waste whose linkage rod has corroded, or a rubber washer and back nut that have perished at the base of the fitting. Bidet waste parts follow the same pattern: the waste trap, the plug seal and the click clack mechanism are the components that fail first. We stock basin plugs, bidet plugs, pop-up waste assemblies, slotted and unslotted basin wastes, overflow rings and covers, and individual waste parts including plug washers, pop-up linkage rods and back nuts. Brands include Hansgrohe, Crosswater, Armitage Shanks, Ideal Standard, Duravit, Burlington and Damixa, alongside own-brand fittings for basins where a direct branded replacement is no longer available.

Basin & Bidet Waste Questions Answered
Common questions about identifying, sizing and replacing basin and bidet waste fittings
What is the difference between a slotted and unslotted basin waste?
A slotted waste has a horizontal slot cut into the side of the body just below the plug seat. This slot connects to the overflow pipe inside the basin pedestal, allowing water that reaches the overflow hole to drain away. An unslotted waste has no slot and is used where the basin has no overflow aperture. Fitting the wrong type will either block the overflow path or leave an open gap in the waste body. Check your basin before ordering.
What is a bidet waste trap and do I need to replace it separately?
The bidet waste trap is the U-bend section beneath the bidet that retains a small amount of water to block drain gases. It connects to the waste fitting above and the soil pipe below. The waste fitting and the trap are separate components. If the fitting is leaking at the bidet bowl, the waste fitting or its rubber seal is the part to replace. If the smell or leak originates beneath the floor connection, the trap is the more likely cause. Both are covered across the waste and waste parts categories here.
How do I know what size bidet or basin waste I need?
The standard basin waste size is 1¼" (32mm). This applies across pop-up wastes, slotted and unslotted clicker wastes and covers the large majority of UK basins and bidets. The measurement refers to the thread diameter of the waste body, not the visible plug or cover diameter. Overflow rings are sized separately by the aperture they cover: common sizes are 28mm, 30mm and 36mm round, and 58mm rectangular. Measure the aperture diameter before ordering an overflow ring.
Can I replace just the seal or washer on a basin waste without replacing the whole fitting?
Yes, in most cases. The components that fail most often on a basin waste are the rubber washer beneath the body, the plug seal on a pop-up or clicker plug, and the back nut that secures the fitting to the basin. Individual waste parts including plug washers, back nuts and O-rings are stocked in the Basin & Bidet Waste Parts section. This is worth checking before replacing a complete assembly, particularly on premium branded fittings where a full replacement costs considerably more than a single washer or seal.
What is the overflow ring on a basin and when does it need replacing?
The overflow ring is the small decorative cover that sits over the overflow aperture on the front face of the basin, usually just below the rim. It has no mechanical function but is often the first visible sign of a problem: if it discolours, cracks, or lifts away from the basin surface, water can track behind it. Replacements are available in round formats from 28mm to 36mm and a 58mm rectangular option, across chrome, gold, brushed brass, matte black and brushed nickel finishes. Match the finish to your waste fitting for a consistent result.
